The Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Foundation, Inc. to be called "Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Center," was established to: (1) award college scholarships to deserving area minority students (2) help the community recognize individuals, groups, and businesses who are worthy of the Outstanding Educator Award (3) provide a mentoring/tutoring program that elevates the educational and social skills of the community’s youth; and
(4) enlighten parents and guardians in matters of financing a college education through seminars and workshops.
Outstanding Educator Awards
The “Outstanding Educator Awards” are presented each year to an individual, group, and business in the community that has exhibited outstanding leadership in helping students develop positive attitudes about themselves as well as improved academic achievement. This award, a Tiffany and Company Crystal Apple, is representative of the commitment of the Foundation’s Board of Directors to honor those devoted to the growth and development of America’s most precious resources, its youth.
The Foundation feels that those who contribute most to the formative years of our youth should be honored since they help shape and mold the character of those who will determine the future well-being of the nation. The Foundation’s recognizes that, “Education comes in many ways: through a company that lends a mentor/tutor; through a counselor who helps in class selections or soothes a damaged ego or through a classroom teacher who clearly explains an algebraic concept.” From these contributions will come productive, creative and well rounded students, prepared to take on the challenges of the future.”

Give
Your Old Computers a Whole New Life
What are you going to do with your old computers?
Why not donate them to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Foundation. We
will refurbish your donated computers and distribute them to lower-income
families with school-age children.
This goal of this Foundation sponsored project is to recycle used computers
received from businesses and individuals and provide them to families with
school-age children that would otherwise be unable to afford a home computer.
The computers are refurbished, upgraded as necessary, and distributed with
basic training to ensure the responsible and consistent use by the receiving
families. It is well documented that everyone learns better with hands-on
experience, and that school children learn best when adults at home are involved
in the student's education. By donating computers, children from lower-income
families have a greater possibility of receiving a quality education. Because
we are a 501-(c)3 foundation, you are eligible for a tax deduction creating
a win-win arrangement for you and the families receiving the computers.
